This was a personal project that first began with my goal of learning more about human anatomy. At the beginning, I was mostly focused on practicing how to draw hands, but the piece slowly grew into a more conceptual composition.

I wanted to explore how hands and other parts of the human body could interact with each other in a way that felt uncomfortable or tense. Since hands are familiar and expressive, I was interested in how changing their arrangement, lighting, and relationship to one another could create a different emotional response.

I started by sketching my own hand as a reference so I could better understand its proportions and structure. Once I felt more confident with the technical side, I began arranging multiple hands into one composition. I focused on strong highlights and shadows, using a bright light in the center as the main source. As I continued working, I adjusted the placement of each hand so that the separate parts would feel connected instead of looking like individual studies.

Through this piece, I realized that I was becoming less focused on perfecting every detail and more focused on how the whole image felt. Rather than treating each hand as a separate anatomy study, I learned to think about the entire composition as one connected flow of movement and interaction.
