This was a personal project that came from my interest in architecture and abstract art. At the time, I was curious about how something that looks chaotic or unorganized at first can still have a clear structure underneath it.

I wanted to create a space that seemed confusing when viewers first looked at it, but became more organized as they spent more time with the piece. I imagined several rooms and walls layered on top of each other, with furniture placed in ways that made the space feel busy and slightly overwhelming. One of my inspirations was IKEA, because walking through its showrooms can feel like moving through many separate rooms that are connected into one larger system.

I used horizon lines, vanishing points, and perspective to build the structure of the piece. Each room had its own color, and when the spaces overlapped, the colors created new combinations. Because of this, I had to think carefully about where each line and color would go before making decisions. A small mistake in the placement of a wall, object, or color could affect the entire image.

Through this project, I learned that structure can be necessary in art, especially when the piece is complex. Even though I wanted the image to feel chaotic, I realized that the chaos only worked because it was planned. This changed the way I think about art because it showed me that creativity and organization do not have to be separate. Sometimes, structure is what allows a complicated idea to become clearer.
